A new plant for the production of aluminum beverage cans was opened in Ulyanovsk, Russia, with the support of the Federal Industrial Development Fund (IDF). The plant, owned by Arnest Packaging Solutions, is located in the Zavolzhye industrial park and has the capacity to produce more than 1.6 billion cans per year. The total investment for the project amounted to 13.5 billion rubles, out of which, 5 billion rubles were provided by the IDF in the form of a preferential loan for the purchase of high-tech equipment. The project was initially started by the American company Ball Corporation but was taken over by the Arnest group of companies after the former withdrew from the Russian market.
