The Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC) has signed a loan agreement with Banco Honda S.A., a Brazilian subsidiary of Honda Motor Co., Ltd. The loan, amounting to $150 million (JBIC's share), is part of a co-financing deal with Mizuho Bank, Ltd., bringing the total to approximately $254 million. The funds will be used for Honda-branded motorcycle and automobile sales finance business in Brazil. This initiative supports the overseas business expansion of Honda and contributes to the strengthening of the supply chain and maintaining/improving the international competitiveness of Japan's automobile industry. Honda is also working towards reducing greenhouse gas emissions for the achievement of 'zero environmental impact' by 2050, and this initiative contributes to such efforts.
