The FAME India Phase II Scheme, launched by the Ministry of Heavy Industries, aims to promote the adoption of electric vehicles (EVs) in India. As of 11th December 2023, the scheme provided a subsidy of Rs. 5294.00 crore to EV manufacturers on the sale of 11,79,669 EVs. It also includes funding for electric buses and public charging stations, as well as production-linked incentive schemes for domestic manufacturing of Advanced Automotive Technology products and Advanced Chemistry Cells.
