The Wine Sector Support Program is a government initiative launched in July 2022, aimed at bolstering the competitiveness and financial resilience of the Canadian wine sector. It provides financial support to licensed Canadian wineries to help them adapt to ongoing and emerging challenges, such as input price increases, labour shortages, and severe weather events. The program has been extended with an investment of up to $177 million over the next 3 years, bringing the Government of Canada's total investment to over $343 million. The additional funding is intended to incentivize investments that will capitalize on the sector's strengths and position it for long-term success. The program also includes initiatives led by the Canadian Grapevine Certification Network to advance science and research and increase the competitiveness of the sector.
